God’s promise of another priesthood requires legal change: Jesus, from Judah, serves not through Aaronic descent but God’s oath and the power of endless life.

Abraham’s tithe and Melchisedec’s blessing show Melchisedec’s priesthood superior to Levi’s, since Levi, still in Abraham, representatively paid tithes through him, anticipating Jesus’ enduring priesthood.
